Three Reasons to Support South Shore Health’s Boston Marathon Team

Join Team SSHS and help cancer patients on the South Shore

We are so proud of our Run SSH Team – Running As One – in the Boston Marathon and we are honored to be a part of the John Hancock non-profit program. Our runners are training hard for their 26.2 mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston on April 15, 2019. But they can’t do it without your support!

Here are three reasons why you should consider supporting Team South Shore Health :

1. All fundraising stays local
Runners on Team SSH raise funds to support cancer patients and their families on the South Shore! Each year, more than 1,000 new patients seek care at our Dana-Farber/Brigham Cancer Center at South Shore Health. Marathon funds support the latest diagnostic technology, advanced surgical procedures, comprehensive inpatient care, new therapies and expert clinicians. Did you know that the Cancer Center participates in clinical trials? Currently, there are 80 patients enrolled in 16 clinical trials. Results from these trials are included with those of Dana-Farber Boston helping them make great strides in cancer treatment.

2. You’ll be part of something bigger
Donating a little bit of money may not seem like much, but your donation will be joined with others and become something much bigger! When you support a specific runner or the entire team, you can see their progress towards their goal. Visit the Team Page and see how your donation really does make a BIG difference!

3. You’ll set an example
Your donation shows that you care. By supporting Team SSH you are supporting our community and making a lasting mark on the lives of patients fighting cancer and their families that support them.

We hope you will consider supporting the efforts of Team SSH by making a donation. We thank you for helping us to continue this exceptional care to cancer patients and their families’ right here on the South Shore.
