South Shore Hospital to Participate with NYU Grossman School of Medicine on the COVID-19 Neuro Database/Biobank
South Shore Hospital is pleased to announce its participation with NYU Grossman School of Medicine on the COVID-19 Neuro Database/Biobank.
The purpose of the project is to create and maintain a national resource documenting and studying neurological complications of coronavirus disease, the illness caused by infection with the SARS-CoV-2 novel coronavirus.
The database and biobank will provide invaluable resources for researchers nationwide in search of better understanding the effects of coronavirus disease on patients with pre-existing or newly developed neurological conditions who have tested positive for COVID-19.
At South Shore Hospital, Dr. Amy Trecartin will be leading the project.
This project is funded by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, part of the National Institutes of Health.
