An Update on Food Donations to South Shore Health

South Shore Health colleagues with food donations from Burton's and Front Line Foods

The community has rallied around the caregivers and staff at South Shore Health since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. One of the most powerful ways our team has felt that support is the donations of food to our frontline colleagues.

Though the generosity of numerous donors – both individual and groups – we have been able to support many local establishments, many of whom have donated meals or matched donations from others. These meals have fueled our caregivers 24/7 throughout the darkest days of COVID-19.

Since April 2, 2020, 29,203 meals, snacks, and other food donations have arrived at South Shore Health.

As our volume of COVID-19 patients continues to decline and we begin to look toward a new normal, we’ve decided to end food donations on June 5, 2020.

We’re so grateful for every donated salad, burrito, smoothie, muffin, hot meal, sandwich, and snack that has come through the door. We are also grateful to Katie Daly and Katie Puzo of the South Shore Health Foundation for their tireless efforts to coordinate donations during the crisis.

Please support the restaurants that support South Shore Health

Many of the restaurants that have been so generous to us are struggling due to the financial impact of COVID-19.

If you can, we ask that you support these businesses that have been there for South Shore Health during the worst of this pandemic. Many offer convenient take-out options that you can enjoy in the comfort of home.

You can find a list of establishments that provided food to South Shore Health below, along with links to their websites. Donations are still being received, so we apologize if a restaurant is not included.
