Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

South Shore Health's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has provided care to Weymouth and the surrounding communities since 1992, when South Shore Hospital championed a then-first-of-its-kind, non-transport paramedic program. Today, our team is made up of over 100 EMS professionals who follow a model of integrated care that ensures patients get appropriate medical services, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in the communities we proudly serve.

In 2018, South Shore Health became the Town of Weymouth’s EMS provider, adding dedicated state-of-the-art advanced life support (ALS) and basic life support (BLS) vehicles to its fleet.

South Shore Health EMS is staffed with highly trained paramedics and emergency medical technicians who are deeply experienced and knowledgeable. Our new state-of-the-art EMS Headquarters in Weymouth serves as the central location for all South Shore EMS professionals.

Our EMS division provides medical oversight to multiple community fire departments and private ambulances throughout the South Shore. This oversight is provided by an EMS board-certified physician. Every day, we support local fire and police departments and ambulatory care sites with the highest level of expertise.
