CT Scans
Precise imaging with faster results, right on the South Shore
PET Scan / CT Scan (Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography) is the most advanced medical imaging technique available today.
It layers two images; one PET scan which detects changes in cell activity and one CT scan which details fine structures within the body. Together, they make an incredibly precise image of the inside of the body. Your physicians can use these images to detect even tiny amounts of disease earlier than ever before, and pinpoint the location with incredible accuracy.
PET/CT scans provide a powerful tool for diagnosing, staging, and assessing the treatment results of cancer, as well as detecting infection, evaluating coronary artery disease, and differentiating Alzheimer’s disease from other forms of dementia.
South Shore Health’s team of diagnostic imaging experts includes specialists in interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, and neuroradiology. Our team also includes technologists who are certified and registered in their areas of specialty.
Our 128-slice CT scanner is one of the most advanced technologies available. All of South Shore Health’s imaging procedures are fully accredited by the American College of Radiology and our radiologists are board-certified by the American Board of Radiology.
